Client Spotlight: Raj Haldar

In my work as a lawyer, I have the great privilege of working with inspirational individuals and businesses. As we’re navigating work and life during this uncertain time, I thought it would be nice to profile some of my clients (with their permission, of course). I hope to promote my clients and introduce you to some interesting content, services and products that you might be able to enjoy now, from wherever you are.

I represent the amazing Raj Haldar in connection with publishing and intellectual property matters.

Raj started his professional career as a rapper. Under the stage name Lushlife, Raj recorded seven albums between 2005 and 2017. Raj also partners with Nickelodeon to write and produce raps songs for kids. Last year, Raj wrote the song The Snizzle for a video featuring Dora the Explorer and a host of characters from other Nick Jr. cartoons. The Snizzle teaches kids to sneeze into their arms – timely content now. Nick Jr. relaunched the video on social media last week – you can watch it here.

Raj is not only a musician, but also the author of P is for Pterodactyl: The Worst Alphabet Book Ever. This clever and fun look at silent letters (“O is for Ouija” and “T is for Tsunami”) is a must-read for children and grown-ups, and reached number 1 on the New York Times Best Seller list in the category of children’s picture books last year. You can learn more about the book here. Raj is currently in discussions to turn the book into an animated series.

And Raj just launched a deck of creativity cards called the Most Wondrous Creativity Card Game Ever. The cards encourage players to draw, act or tell stories with endless zany combinations. Starting on March 23, people can play a free online version of the game hosted by Raj on his Instagram account. You can also buy a deck of cards here, so you can play at home.

As if all of that weren’t enough, Raj’s next book, No Reading Allowed: The Worst Read Aloud Book Ever, is scheduled to be published over the summer.

Now more than ever we will be looking to creative people like Raj to entertain and inspire us. I hope you’ll use the links in this article to learn more about Raj, and that you and your families get to enjoy his fantastic work.

Take care, and #FlattenTheCurve
